During a meeting on Tuesday with UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu, who is attending the third ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi, General Giang called for continued UN support in policy consultation, knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and resource mobilization.
He also urged the early completion of the Vietnam–UN Strategic Cooperation Framework for 2027–2031. General Giang highlighted Vietnam’s readiness to share experience in post-war recovery and mine clearance.
Ms. Izumi Nakamitsu described Vietnam as an outstanding model of cooperation with the United Nations.
She highly appreciated the Vietnamese Government’s leadership and affirmed that the UN Country Team in Vietnam would continue supporting Vietnam in achieving its development goals and fulfilling its international commitments. She also pledged support for Vietnam’s participation in disarmament training and cooperation initiatives.
