Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi said the visit is particularly significant, as it marks the first time Vietnam’s top Party and State leader has made a state visit to Russia while serving concurrently as Party General Secretary and State President.
“I believe General Secretary and President To Lam and President Vladimir Putin will hold extensive discussions on major strategic orientations to elevate bilateral ties in the coming period, opening up new avenues for cooperation in areas where the two sides have needs and strengths. They will also exchange views on major regional and international issues. I firmly believe and expect that this visit will make an important contribution to bringing the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to a new level,” he said.
According to Ambassador Khoi, Vietnam-Russia cooperation has made strong progress in recent years. Political trust has continued to deepen through regular exchanges of delegations, meetings, and dialogues at all levels, particularly at the highest level.
Bilateral trade has also regained positive momentum, reaching more than 4.7 billion USD in 2025 and over 3.2 billion USD in the first seven months of 2026.
