Ms. Hang expressed hope that the US will support Vietnam in hosting APEC 2027 and will work closely with Hanoi to advance its priorities and initiatives during the forum. She said Vietnam looks forward to welcoming President Donald Trump to the APEC Economic Leaders' Week.
Deputy Minister Hang said she hopes Ambassador Wicks, drawing on her professional experience and leadership, will share her expertise with Vietnam’s female diplomats and help to expand exchanges between women in the two countries.
The US Ambassador said US-Vietnam relations are at a positive stage of development and reaffirmed Washington's commitment to its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam.
She said she will work closely with Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to promote high level exchanges and contacts while advancing cooperation in priority areas and contributing to a relationship that is increasingly substantive, effective, and mutually beneficial.
