The Strategy sets the goal for Vietnam to become a developed, prosperous, safe, and humane digital nation by 2045. Digital transformation will be the main development method and an important driving force for economic growth, improving labor productivity, national competitiveness, and the quality of life of the people.
Citizens and businesses will be at the center, the stakeholders, and the main beneficiaries of the digital transformation process. Vietnam will have a modern national governance system based on data and artificial intelligence (AI); master digital technologies, digital platforms, and strategic digital products; and firmly ensure national digital sovereignty.
The Strategy outlines three groups of objectives covering digital government, the digital economy and digital society. Firstly, Vietnam aims to be among the top 50 countries in the world in e-government/digital government. Secondly, it will develop the digital economy and enhance the competitiveness of the economy. The third objective is developing a digital society, narrowing the digital divide, improving the quality of life for citizens, and prioritizing the formation of a "Make in Vietnam" digital technology business ecosystem.
