The consensus was reached at the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue, co-chaired by Politburo member and Standing Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and Chan Chun Sing, Assistant Secretary-General of Singapore’s People’s Action Party (PAP), Coordinating Minister for Public Services, and Minister for Defence.

The discussions also focused on strengthening cooperation in science, technology, and innovation.

Mr. Tu called for the effective implementation of the two countries’ Joint Statement on the Vietnam-Singapore Technology Connectivity Strategy, with a long-term vision, and urged the two sides to develop solutions and mechanisms to finalize and implement the Technology Connectivity Strategy for 2026-2030 as soon as possible.

He said the new cooperation model should bring together the strengths of the State, scientists, and businesses. The goal should go beyond attracting investment and transferring technology to include joint research, joint development, and step-by-step joint mastery of technology, creating new products and added value, Mr. Tu noted.
