In talks with Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongsavan Phomvihane, both sides agreed to prepare early for activities marking the Vietnam–Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year in 2027.
They also committed to continued coordination within trilateral mechanisms involving Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, and preparations for multilateral and subregional conferences hosted by Vietnam in 2026.
During his meeting with Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, both sides discussed preparations for the 50th anniversary of Vietnam–Thailand diplomatic relations in 2026 and agreed to finalize and adopt an Action Program for 2026–2030 to effectively implement their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
In meetings with European partners, including European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas and foreign ministers from the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Lithuania, and Cyprus, Minister Le Hoai Trung urged the EU to expedite ratification of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), lift the “yellow card” warning on Vietnamese seafood under IUU regulations, and remove Vietnam from the EU’s list of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions.
