In an interview with the media on the visit to Thailand on May 27-29 by General Secretary and State President To Lam, his spouse, and a high-level Vietnamese delegation at the invitation of Acting Prime Minister of Thailand Anutin Charnvirakul and his spouse, the Thai Ambassador said this is the first official visit by Vietnam’s top leader to Thailand since the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and following the consolidation of Vietnam’s new leadership apparatus.

High on the agenda will be discussions on the adoption of the 2026–2031 Plan of Action (POA) in order to implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework. It’s a comprehensive plan, enabling the two countries to work together in promoting security, peace, and shared prosperity.

She said, both countries will exchange views on energy security, food security, transnational crime, and climate change, coordinate activities to strengthen ASEAN unity, promote maritime security, safeguard freedom of navigation, and uphold international law.

Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya affirmed that General Secretary and State President To Lam’s visit will undoubtedly deepen the longstanding and enduring friendship between the two countries and elevate the Vietnam–Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to new heights, practically contributing to a resilient and prosperous ASEAN.
