Chairman Man urged the Ambassador to act as a bridge and coordinate with the Vietnamese side to further promote contacts and delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly among high-ranking leaders, and to foster a mechanism for regular, substantive dialogue between the two countries' legislative bodies.

The top legislator expressed the hope that the United States would soon recognize Vietnam as a market economy. He also proposed that the two nations collaborate to strengthen cooperation in breakthrough sectors, specifically high tech, semiconductors, digital transformation, innovation, and the green energy transition.

Regarding the remediation of war legacies, the Chairman called for continued close cooperation on dioxin detoxification, unexploded ordnance clearance, support for persons with disabilities, and the search for missing military personnel.

Ambassador Wicks pledged to continue serving as a bridge to advance US-Vietnam relations, adding the United States values its relationship with Vietnam and supports a strong, independent, resilient, and prosperous Vietnam.
