This is Quynh’s second ASIAD bronze medal in the same weight class, following her bronze at the 2022 ASIAD in Hangzhou, China, making her one of the standout Vietnamese athletes in Asian competitions.
Earlier in the day, boxer Nguyen Thi Tam defeated Kazakhstan’s world champion Alua Balkibekova 5-0 in the women’s 51kg semi-final, advancing to the final to vie for the gold medal.
As of Wednesday, the Vietnamese sports delegation won two gold, one silver and 18 bronze medals at ASIAD 2026, ranking 20th in the medal standings.
