The report for the 2016-2017 academic year shows that Vietnam remains the 6th leading country of origin for all international students in the US with nearly 22,500 students, a 5% increase over the previous year. Technology, business, administration, maths, and computer science were the majors most favored by foreign students. The report also revealed that Viet Nam is becoming a more popular destination for American students. In the last academic year, Vietnam welcomed more than 1,000 students from the US, up 9.8%. In his speech at the APEC CEO Summit in Da Nang city last week, President Donald Trump noted “Vietnamese students rank among the best students in the world”.
