The average price of tea exported to the US was 1,600 USD per ton, 12% higher than last year.
Data from the International Trade Centre show that Vietnamese green tea prices in the US rose 31% in the first seven months to 3,000 USD per ton. Black tea prices rose 13% to 1,700 USD per ton.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade expects tea demand to rise in the fourth quarter as the holiday and New Year season approaches in Asia, the Middle East, and North America. Export prices are expected to stay high, and processed, specialty, and branded teas could increase the total export value.
