According to the National Statistic Office, state budget revenue in August was estimated at 5.8 billion USD, raising the total in the first eight months of thsi year to more than 77.5 billion USD.

Meanwhile, total retail sales of goods and consumer services at current prices reached 20 billion USD in August. Industrial production maintained its positive growth momentum. In the first eight months of the year, the Index of Industrial Production, or IIP, rose 11.9% year on year, marking the highest growth rate for the January-August period in numerous years.

Another notable development was the strong performance of foreign trade. Total import and export turnover reached 109.7 billion USD in August, up 31.7% from the same period last year. In the first eight months, total trade turnover hit a record 770 billion USD, the highest level ever recorded for the period.

Vietnam also continued to attract strong foreign investment. As of August 31, total registered foreign investment in the country stood at 41 billion USD, up more than 55% year on year.

The tourism sector also remained a bright spot. Vietnam welcomed 1.99 million international visitors in August, bringing the total number of foreign arrivals in the first eight months of 2026 to 15.9 million, up more than 14% year on year. This was the highest number of international arrivals recorded in the first eight months in a number of years.
