Speaking to the press, Minister Trung stressed that one of the most significant outcomes of the visits was the strengthening of political trust and the creation of new momentum to elevate Vietnam’s relations with both countries.
In addition to advancing cooperation in politics, diplomacy, trade, and investment, the leaders of Vietnam, Australia, and New Zealand reaffirmed their commitment to deepening defense and security cooperation, contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region.
Minister Trung emphasized that the visits also helped align Vietnam’s external relations more closely with the country’s development priorities. As Vietnam accelerates its transformation through science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green growth, and the development of high-quality human resources, Australia and New Zealand are well placed to support these goals through their complementary strengths.
He added that the visits opened up new opportunities for cooperation, helping Vietnam mobilize external resources more effectively while expanding its development space.
Minister Trung noted that a series of cooperation agreements and documents were signed during the visits. The included 3 joint statements between Vietnam and Australia on deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, enhancing economic resilience and adaptability, and strengthening cooperation in science and technology, innovation, and research connectivity.
Party leader and President To Lam also met with representatives of the Vietnamese communities in Australia and New Zealand. Through these engagements, he reaffirmed that overseas Vietnamese are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation and an important resource for the country’s development.
Minister Trung expressed confidence that the outcomes of the visits would soon be translated into concrete programs, projects, and tangible results, making Vietnam’s relations with Australia and New Zealand deeper, more substantive, and more effective.
