Speaking at a meeting with ASEAN ambassadors and chargés d'affaires in Hanoi on Tuesday, the Vietnamese top leader said Vietnam is committed to fostering practical, stable, and long-term partnerships across the region. Marking ASEAN's 59th anniversary, the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation, and 31 years since Vietnam joined the bloc, he described ASEAN as a family of trusted neighbors.

Amid rising global uncertainties, he urged member states to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, and economic development while narrowing development gaps and expanding collaboration in emerging sectors.

Representing ASEAN diplomats, Philippine Ambassador Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III reaffirmed the bloc's commitment to working closely with Vietnam to build a more resilient, innovative, and people-centered ASEAN, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in Southeast Asia and the world.
