These events pay tribute to history and promote the image of Vietnam and its people, while fostering unity and generating momentum for national development.

In the capital, Hanoi is adorned with flags and flowers to celebrate Reunification Day, attracting large numbers of domestic and international visitors. On Thursday, more than 20,000 people paid tribute at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, including 4,280 foreign visitors.

The city is also organizing numerous exhibitions and displays rich in historical significance. At the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site, a photo exhibition “Echoes of a New Day” showcases more than 70 valuable images, vividly portraying the journey from the Great Spring Victory of 1975 to the early years of national reconstruction in peacetime.

In Ho Chi Minh City, a festival themed “A United Nation” features multiple cultural, artistic, and sporting activities, creating a festive atmosphere among residents. Highlights include the April 30 cross-country race, special art performances, and fireworks displays at multiple locations for locals and visitors.

Tourist Richard Evans from Wales, the United Kingdom, shared his impressions of visiting Vietnam during this period: “I’ve learned quite a lot about Vietnam. Traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to other destinations, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the country’s history during my three weeks here. I really like the Vietnamese people. They’re very friendly. The food, drinks, markets, atmosphere, and even the weather, everything has been wonderful.”

In Hai Phong, a series of commemorative events is being held, highlighted by the art program “The Nation in Full Joy” taking place on Thursday evening at the City Theatre Square. The program is elaborately staged in three chapters: “A Land of Sacred Spirit,” “The Festival of National Reunification,” and “Radiant Hai Phong.”

Meanwhile, Can Tho City is hosting a variety of lively cultural and festival activities, notably the 13th Southern Traditional Cake Festival, featuring more than 300 booths and celebrating the rich heritage of regional cuisine.
