According to the National Statistics Office, Vietnam has already achieved almost half of its target of attracting 25 million international visitors in 2026.

China and South Korea were Vietnam's two largest international tourism markets, accounting for about 40% of total foreign arrivals during the first half of the year. They were followed by Russia, Taiwan (China), the United States, and Japan.

Southeast Asia continued to be one of the key drivers of Vietnam's tourism growth, while India remained a standout market in South Asia. Meanwhile, Europe recorded the fastest growth, with visitor arrivals rising 56% year-on-year in the reviewed period.

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the government will continue to develop tourism into a key economic sector. The ministry plans to strengthen links between tourism and related industries while shifting the industry's focus from expanding visitor numbers to improving quality, value-added services, and distinctive travel experiences. Vietnam's tourism strategy will increasingly target high-spending visitors and longer-stay travelers.
