The development of the maritime economy must always be closely linked to strengthening national defense and security, building a comprehensive national defense posture, a people's security posture, and a "people's support" posture at sea, he added.
The Vietnam Coast Guard will continue to work alongside the authorities and people of coastal localities in disseminating legal information, supporting fishermen in venturing out to sea, and contributing to the firm protection of the sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands, the political commissar said.
