At Tho Quang fishing port, all fishing vessels submit electronic declarations before leaving port. Da Nang reports no cases of vessels losing their vessel monitoring system (VMS) signals at sea for six hours or more without reporting their positions, remaining out of contact for 10 days without returning to shore, fishing in prohibited areas, or being detained for illegal fishing in foreign waters.
Tran Nam Hung, vice chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, said that relevant agencies are working closely together to deliver practical results. “We will continue to implement specific measures without letting our guard down, as we prepare for an inspection by a European Union delegation.”
