Speaking on Sunday ahead of Portugal’s Round of 16 clash against Spain, Ronaldo said he simply wants to enjoy every day and every match at the tournament rather than think about the future. The 41-year-old dismissed suggestions that he’s under pressure to lead Portugal to their first-ever World Cup title.

“I don’t feel that anything is missing in my life. God has been incredibly generous to me. He has given me everything—far more than I ever expected to achieve, especially with the national team. The same is true in my personal life. What’s important now is to enjoy every moment. I won’t become a ‘greater’ Cristiano if I win the World Cup, nor will I be any less if I don’t,” he said.

Ronaldo shares the record with Lionel Messi for appearing in 6 FIFA World Cups. He was the first player to score in 6 different World Cup tournaments and remains Portugal’s all-time leading World Cup scorer with 10 goals.
