The Action Month focuses on changing public awareness and encouraging concrete action. Local authorities have launched clean-up campaigns, tree-planting drives, and initiatives promoting the use of public transport and electric vehicles. Households, government agencies, and schools are encouraged to sort waste at source, reduce single-use plastics, and increase green spaces through tree planting.

This year, the centerpiece event was held in Nghe An province on June 6. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the Nghe An provincial People's Committee jointly launched a movement calling on all people to act as one to keep our homeland clean and green.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung said: "A greener, cleaner and more beautiful Vietnam cannot be built through slogans or appeals alone but requires concrete actions and the united efforts of the entire political system, the business community, and all citizens. Protecting the environment today means safeguarding the future of our nation and the well-being of future generations. The movement ‘All People Join Hands to Protect the Environment for a Green, Clean and Beautiful Vietnam’ will spread widely throughout society, contributing to the country's rapid and sustainable development."

Last Saturday, all 54 communes, wards, and special zones in Quang Ninh simultaneously launched activities marking the Action Month for the Environment.

Residents participated in environmental clean-up campaigns and the development of community models such as “Green-Clean-Beautiful Residential Areas” and “Green Roads.” Ngoc Thai Hoang,

Deputy Director of the Quang Ninh Department of Agriculture and Environment, said: "The agriculture and environment sector will continue to advise on solutions to improve environmental quality and develop synchronized, modern technical infrastructure that meets the criteria of green urban areas. We aim to make Quang Ninh a main growth pole in northern Vietnam and a national model of sustainable development."

Vietnam is mobilizing all citizens to engage in environmental protection under the spirit that “Every citizen is a green citizen, every family a green space, and every residential area, agency, and organization a green community.”
