Hang Ma Street in Hanoi is bursting with the colors of the season. Traditional paper knick-knacks are displayed alongside a wide range of electronic lanterns. To Uyen, a Hanoi resident, said: “Hang Ma Street is very crowded and lively, with a wide variety of products, especially traditional toys.”
Big e-commerce platforms are offering different types of Mid-Autumn toys and decorations and individual online sellers are also promoting products through livestreams and social media. The online marketplace offers a broader selection of products than the traditional shops, plus clearly posted prices and the convenience of home delivery.
For busy parents, online shopping is a practical way to buy Mid-Autumn gifts for their children or decorations for the celebration at their child’s school.
Thu Thuy, a parent who lives in Hanoi, said: “This year, the parents of the students in my child’s class planned a Mid-Autumn party for them. We discussed ideas for decorating the classroom and decided on some gifts. Then we ordered the decorations and gifts from Facebook and e-commerce platforms like Shopee and Lazada. It was very convenient, and the quality of the items we bought was OK.”
Whether they shop for toys on Hang Ma Street or in the online marketplace, consumers seem to be as caught up as ever in the atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
