Maintaining growth momentum, preserving macroeconomic stability, and strengthening investor confidence will require the commitment of the entire political system.

Accelerating growth drivers

Following the Party Central Committee's direction, ministries, sectors, and industries are stepping up measures to achieve their assigned targets. Pham Van Quan, Deputy Director of the Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that in order for the sector to achieve industrial growth of 12-14% in the second half of the year, a new industry and trade development strategy has been in place.

“We need to allocate sufficient land to attract major investors and large-scale enterprises while ensuring an adequate electricity supply before investment projects begin implementation. We will continue to expand exports and strengthen the domestic market,” said Quan.

To raise seafood exports to more than 12 billion USD this year, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) is expanding into new markets alongside traditional ones.

“The Chinese market shows strong growth potential. China is expected to increase imports of black tiger prawns and lobsters from Vietnam. We should also capitalize on opportunities in relatively stable markets with geographical and logistics advantages, such as ASEAN, Japan, and South Korea. At the same time, we need to increase the share of processed products and improve production efficiency to make our products more price competitive,” Le Hang, Deputy Secretary General of VASEP, said.

Localities are showing a strong determination to achieve their growth targets. Building on their advantages, provinces and cities have developed growth scenarios, prioritized investment attraction, accelerated key infrastructure projects, streamlined administrative procedures, and worked closely with businesses to create new growth momentum and deliver tangible results.

Demonstrating strong capacity

At a recent meeting with ministries and sectors to review socio-economic performance in the first half of the year and outline tasks for the remaining months, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung said the highest priorities are to maintain macroeconomic stability, control inflation, ensure major economic balances, and strengthen market confidence. These are essential conditions for businesses to expand production, for investors to continue choosing Vietnam as a long-term destination, and for international partners to remain confident in Vietnam's economic prospects.

“Ministries and localities that have met or exceeded their growth targets in the first half of the year should strive to achieve even stronger results. Those that have yet to meet their targets must strive harder to fulfil them, especially Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and other key growth centers. I urge ministries, sectors, and localities to implement the Government's plans and measures to achieve their assigned targets,” said Mr. Hung.

Economic development must go hand in hand with social welfare, high-quality human resource development, digital transformation, green transition, and the application of science and technology. These are requirements for sustainable development and conditions for enhancing Vietnam's competitiveness as environmental, technological, and governance standards become global norms.
