(VOVWORLD) - On September 2, Cao Lanh, capital of the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap, was added to UNESCO’s Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC) along with 76 cities from 43 other countries. Cao Lanh is the 5th Vietnamese city to join the list, which has recognized 294 cities in 76 countries that are making an effort to promote life-long learning.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s economy is recovering strongly from numerous challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years. The recovery has been due to the promotion of independence and self-reliance since the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was founded on September 2, 1945.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam set a goal to be carbon neutral by 2050 at the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26). Vietnam has adopted several policies to develop clean energy sources and renewable energy to reduce carbon emissions.

(VOVWORLD) -On September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam). The Declaration shows the Vietnamese people's aspiration for peace, freedom, and independence, which has guided them to fight for national reunification and development.

But those rights can only be exercised in an independent country. Because of those noble values, throughout history, progressive mankind, including the Vietnamese people, have not hesitated to sacrifice and struggle to gain independence, freedom and happiness. Since the National Day of September 2, 1945, the Party, State and people of Vietnam have always been steadfast toward this noble goal.

(VOVWORLD) - The General Statistics Office reports that Vietnam’s economy in the first eight months of this year has gradually regained the growth rate it enjoyed before the pandemic. Economic growth has been strong in industrial production and export and import, and inflation is under control.
