(VOVWORLD) - In August 1945, a call for a general uprising was delivered throughout Vietnam. 20 million Vietnamese rose up to wrest back power and gain independence from French colonialists. The momentous victory of the August Revolution manifested the people’s power and drew a lesson about great unity and considering people the root. The lesson continues to be learned in national resistance wars, construction, and defense.

(VOVWORLD) - Relations between the two NATO allies, the US and Turkey, are tense over Turkey’s detention of American pastor Andrew Brunson.
