A strong spirit of renewal

The Congress is decisive for Vietnam’s development orientation in the new period, characterized by rapid and sustainable growth, self-reliance, resilience, autonomy, deep integration, and comprehensive modernization. A major highlight in preparations for the Congress is the strong renewal in drafting its documents.

“Three separate reports - the Political Report, the Socio-economic Report, and the Party building Report - have been integrated into a single, unified Political Report,” said Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.

For the first time, the documents include an accompanying action program that clearly identifies specific projects, timelines, and responsibilities, ensuring the Congress’s Resolution can be implemented immediately, he noted. “The draft documents attracted nearly 14 million public opinions, demonstrating a high level of consensus between the Party’s will and the people’s aspirations.”

Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council elaborated, “Breakthroughs in completing institutions for rapid and sustainable national development are a new element in the Congress’s documents. This time, the scope goes beyond the economy to include culture, society, people, national defense, security, foreign affairs, Party building, and the political system.”

Rapid and sustainable development also emphasizes environmental protection, one of the three key pillars alongside the economy and society, he said, adding “The documents also highlight the role of cultural identity and political stability.”

Translating guiding viewpoints into clear solutions and concrete action programs is seen as a significant step forward, narrowing the gap between policy and practice.

Expectations for strategic decisions

The 14th National Party Congress takes place amid profound global and regional changes. As such, the public places high expectations on the Congress to deliver strategic decisions ensuring the successful realization of the two centenary goals: 100 years of the Party’s founding and 100 years of the founding of the country. “We are confident that the Congress will adopt breakthrough policies, with greater attention to education, healthcare, and social welfare.”

“I hope the Congress will issue bold decisions on institutional reform and development mindset, clearly defining science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key drivers of productivity and competitiveness, while fostering a transparent and stable business environment.”

“The overseas Vietnamese community in Russia hopes the Congress will bring breakthroughs in development, legal frameworks, and the investment climate, fully mobilizing diaspora resources.”
