“Loving Kitchen” serves hope to HCM City’s poor patients
(VOVWORLD) - For over a decade, a small kitchen tucked away in HCM city-based Cho Ray Hospital has been serving approximately 1,000 free vegetarian meals daily to underprivileged patients. The kitchen has recently started providing 300 meat-based meals every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons to ensure proper nutrition for those staying at the hospital.

Operating in a modest 20-square-meter space, the "Loving Kitchen" serves lunch and dinner every day, including weekends and holidays. Patients and their families line up under a canopy to receive freshly cooked meals. For many, these meals alleviate a significant financial burden.
Every meal is thoughtfully planned with a variety of dishes, ensuring both nutritions and food safety. The kitchen, managed by the hospital's Social Affairs Section in collaboration with charitable organizations, extends its support beyond Cho Ray Hospital to other hospitals in the city.
What makes this initiative truly special is its unwavering dedication. It operates 365 days a year, without a break for holidays or Tet. According to the volunteers, the goal is to ease the struggles of patients and their families, providing comfort and hope during challenging times.
The “Loving Kitchen” is more than just a place that serves meals. It embodies the kindness and solidarity of the community, offering not only nourishment but also emotional support. By delivering warm, heartfelt meals, the kitchen fosters a sense of connection, helping the patients find strength in their journey toward recovery.
Through its unceasing efforts, the “Loving Kitchen” exemplifies the power of compassion, proving that even small acts of kindness can make a profound difference.
