80th anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army marked in France
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Embassy in France and the Vietnamese Defense Attaché Office in France organized a ceremony in Paris on Tuesday to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-People National Defence Day.

Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang highlighted the historical relationship between Vietnam and France, pointing out that the two have worked together to strengthen and develop their special relationship.
Vietnam and France established defense ties in 1991 by opening Defense Attaché Offices in each other’s country. Since then, defense cooperation has become a pillar of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Major General Stéphane Richou, Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Foreign Relations of the French Army, praised the achievements of the Vietnam People's Army over the past 80 years. He expressed hope that France-Vietnam defense cooperation will continue to grow.
