During her first visit to the 2026 Lunar New Year Fair at Fairfield Showground, Sydney's Greater Western, Mostyn said the 320,000 Vietnamese people in Australia are an integral part of Australia’s success as a multicultural society, and Tet celebrations help preserve culture while strengthening solidarity and mutual understanding.

She toured the booths, watched art performances, and interacted with the children, saying diversity is one of Australia’s greatest strengths and people sharing their cultural heritage enriches Australia’s identity and promotes national cohesion. She wished the Vietnamese community a happy new year and expressed her hope for a harmonious society built on respect, peace, and shared values.
