(VOVWORLD) - A “Zero-dong” market was held in Mong Cai 1 Ward, Quang Ninh Province, on Sunday, where disadvantaged residents were given essential goods for the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet).

The market featured 20 booths offering more than 80 essential items, including rice, cooking oil, pork, pots, pans, clothing, and other daily necessities. All items were neatly arranged and distributed free of charge to local people. Mr. Cao Duc Muon and Ms. Tran Thi Huong, residents of Mong Cai 2 Ward, said.
“I received all the essential items for my family such as instant noodles, cookware, and blankets. I am very grateful to the Party and the State.”
“We have got everything we need, including blankets, pots, Chung cakes, glutinous rice, chicken vermicelli, and meat. It feels like Tet has come earlier.”
Mr. Ly Van Thanh, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial Red Cross Society, said, “This is a very meaningful gift. In addition to helping disadvantaged households enjoy a warmer Tet, the most important thing is that people feel the care and respect conveyed through these gifts. We also hope this will give those in difficult circumstances more motivation to move forward in life.”
