There will be four special performances over three days (March 6 at 8 PM, March 7 at 8 PM, March 8 at 3 PM, and March 8 at 8 PM), VietArt Media Joint Stock Company, the event’s organizer, told reporters in Hanoi on Monday.

The peacock is a classic theatrical image created by the Chinese dancer Yang Liping. In 2012, she launched the dance drama "The Peacock," which tells a deeper and more comprehensive story about this symbol. The 2022 version is a grand re-staging, featuring a completely new and sophisticated stage presence.

The "Peacock" is both a bird and a human, symbolizing all living beings in the visible world. Divided into four chapters of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, the drama tells a story about growth, human nature, life, and love, while expressing the harmony between life and nature. The dance drama "The Peacock Hanoi 2026" brings together nearly 70 Chinese dancers and technicians.

“The Peacock dance drama being staged in Vietnam this time is of very high artistic quality. Technical equipment, sound, lighting, choreography, and logistics will all be transported by road from China to the Ho Guom Theatre on March 1, 2026. I believe that Vietnamese and international audiences will be satisfied with it, because the Peacock dance has been performed 1,000 times in China, nearly 700 times in over 50 countries, and has always been well-received,” said. Doan Thuy Phuong, General Director of VietArt Media Joint Stock Company.

Born in 1958 in Yunnan Province, China, Yang Liping is one of Asia's leading dance instructors. She is known as the "Peacock of the Dance World." With over half a century dedicated to the arts, Yang has become an icon of Eastern dance, contributing to the global reach of Chinese dance through thousands of performances in over 50 countries.

In 2012, her dance drama "The Peacock" was created, attracting large audiences and becoming a phenomenon. By 2025 "The Peacock" completed its 700th performance worldwide.
