In his closing address on Friday afternoon, the Party leader said the Congress adopted the documents submitted by the 13th Party Central Committee, and discussed and approved major guidelines, policies, orientations, key tasks, and strategic breakthroughs to ensure rapid and sustainable national development and firmly safeguard the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new context.

It identified socio-economic development and environmental protection as the central task; Party building as the key task; cultural and human development as the foundation; and strengthening national defense and security, along with promoting foreign affairs and international integration, as crucial and regular tasks. Breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation were defined as the central driving force for development.

The overarching spirit of the 14th Congress term is to secure strategic autonomy; seize opportunities; harness unity and consensus; overcome all challenges; strongly rekindle the aspiration for development; turn will into action and decisions into concrete results; and ensure that words match action, with action taken immediately, correctly, decisively, thoroughly, and effectively.

“The spirit of ‘steadfastness’ embodies political mettle, the continuation of historical legacy and lessons from the renewal process, and a strong commitment by the Party that, in all circumstances, it will remain steadfast in the goal of national independence associated with socialism; steadfast on the path of self-reliance, autonomy, and resilience; always placing national interests above all else, and putting the well-being and happiness of the people at the center. The spirit of ‘innovation’ is an imperative of our times. Without innovation and reform, there will be no breakthrough, no competitiveness, and no development. We must continue to renew thinking, development and growth models, and methods of implementation, so that sound guidelines translate into tangible results in real life,” General Secretary To Lam said.

According to Mr. Lam, the Congress once again affirmed a fundamental truth: the Party’s leadership is the decisive factor in all victories of the Vietnamese revolution, and the Party’s renewal policy is correct, creative, and aligned with objective realities.

“The great success of the Congress reflects our country’s confidence, will, determination, and new development vision. With the unity and determination of the Congress; with the major decisions adopted; with unity of will and action across the entire Party; and with the strength of the people and the great national solidarity bloc, we will certainly successfully implement the Resolution of the Congress, building a peaceful, independent, democratic, strong, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam, steadily advancing toward socialism.”

General Secretary To Lam called on the entire Party, the people, the armed forces, and overseas Vietnamese to fully promote patriotism, civic responsibility, and the aspiration for development.

He urged every agency, unit, organization, and individual to begin with concrete actions, contributing to national development, ensuring a prosperous and happy life for the people, and making Vietnam stronger each day, standing shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the world.
