The train’s elegant design is a combination of Indochinese and French styles. It drew inspirations from Queen Nam Phuong’s Palace in Da Lat, with technical upgrades for passengers’ comfort.
There are 36 seats along the sides of each of the train’s carriage for a better view of the scenary. VIP compartments are designed for families seeking a private experience, with 12 seats each.
Vietnam Railways Corporations said they hope La Reine will become an appealing tourist product and attract more passengers.
The company’s general director Dao Anh Tuan said, “We have renovated and upgraded the locomotives and carriages to meet tourists’ needs. Onboard services such as parties and weddings have also been launched. These efforts to enhance our products and services at the Da Lat Station and on the Da Lat-Trai Mat route have significantly increased the number of tourists on our night trains, benefiting the development of railway tourism in the city.”
Following La Reine’s launch, several promotional programs, including discounts for round-trip tickets and tickets for group of 10 and above will be implemented. Passengers will also be served tea, free Wi-Fi, and live music performances onboard.
