Dr. Ruvislei González Sáez, senior researcher at Cuba's Center for International Policy Studies, said Deputy Prime Minister Quang's visit demonstrates Vietnam's keen interest in the special relationship and traditional friendship with Cuba.

This is not only an opportunity for the Vietnamese Government to continue direct exchanges and contact with Cuban partners, but also for Vietnamese leaders and businesses to have a deeper look at the reality of the current Cuban situation, he said.

According to González Sáez, the visit’s focus is to strengthen bilateral cooperation and raise economic relations to a level of political relations.

The two countries can keep capitalizing on existing advantages to further strengthen cooperation in healthcare, biotechnology, climate change combat, and education among others. Vietnam and Cuba also have much potential to increase cooperation in developing renewable energy sources, he added.
