(VOVWORLD) - The Prime Minister on Sunday decided to send 4,000 tons of rice from the national reserve to the flood-hit provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, and Quang Nam.

The same day, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung led a team to Quang Tri province to coordinate the urgent task of finding people who went missing in landslides and flooding.
The Office of the Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control has reported that, as of Monday morning 88 people had died, 38 people were missing, and 53,000 houses were submerged by flooding in the central region.
