(VOVWORLD) - The semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported on Friday that a member of Iran’s negotiating team confirmed that Iran has agreed to a fourth round of indirect nuclear talks with the United States on Sunday in Oman.

According to the source, Iran accepted a proposal from Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi to host the talks, and the date has been finalized.
Originally planned for May 3 in Rome, the talks were postponed due to “logistical reasons,” as announced by Oman, the mediator.
So far, three rounds of indirect negotiations have been held between Iranian and US delegations with Omani mediation. Both sides have described the talks as yielding positive results.
These indirect discussions represent the highest level of communication between Tehran and Washington since the US unilaterally withdrew from the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) during US President Trump’s first term.
