Iran sees prospects for nuclear deal with US

(VOVWORLD) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday described recent nuclear talks between Iran and the United States in Oman as "a step forward."

In a post on X, Pezeshkian said the discussions took place as a result of efforts by "friendly" governments in West Asia, emphasizing that dialogue has consistently been Iran's chosen strategy for resolving issues peacefully.

Iran’s SNN news agency quoted Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi as saying that Iran might reach a nuclear agreement with the US through direct or indirect talks. He stressed, however, that the final outcome will depend on Washington’s approach, saying a substantive agreement can only be achieved if the US engages in negotiations in an honest and fair manner, based on mutual interests and mutual respect.
