Palestinian factions resume reconciliation talks

 (VOVworld) - Delegations of 3 Palestinian factions arrived in Cairo at the invitation of Egypt’s intelligence service to resume reconciliation talks between the factions and Al-Fatah.

The delegations represents the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), and from the Palestinian Popular Resistance Movement (PPRM).

A diplomatic source reported that delegations from Al-Fatah and the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Hamas will also participate in the negotiations. Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi said on May 17th that he would mediate reconciliation talks between Israel and Palestine and promote the reconciliation of Palestinian factions to bring peace and unity to the region.

On Thursday, the Israeli army announced that it will deploy two additional battalions to Judea and Samaria in the West Bank, following a deadly terror attack in the center of Tel Aviv, which left four people dead. Israel revoked 83,000 travel permits allowing Palestinians to enter Israel during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
