During a meeting with representatives of Wartsila, a leading Finnish technology group in the maritime and energy sectors, Mr. Hung highlighted the potential for cooperation between the two sides and proposed several specific directions, including joint research on solutions for power plants and projects of Petrovietnam and Petrovietnam Power Corporation (PV Power), development of LNG-powered engines for Petrovietnam's large fleet, and studies on electricity supply for Petrovietnam's energy centers in the northern, central, and southern Vietnam.

Petrovietnam has already applied Wartsila’s engine technology in its shipbuilding and maritime operations.

Wartsila representatives said they are cooperating with PV Power on the 600 MW Flexible Power Plant Project in Nhon Trach, and expressed their desire to expand cooperation with Petrovietnam in clean energy, fuel conversion, and engine technology.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman Phan Tu Giang led a delegation to meet with Valmet Group, one of Finland's leading industrial technology companies. The two sides discussed establishing a Petrovietnam-Valmet cooperation channel in areas including process technology and automation (Valmet DNA), energy solutions, waste-to-energy, biomass energy, and flow control technologies.

These meetings have created various cooperation opportunities for Petrovietnam in clean energy, digital transformation, automation, and sustainable development, contributing to the implementation of Vietnam’s energy transition roadmap and the achievement of its net zero emissions goal by 2050.
