Chairing an online conference to review the campaign, the PM stressed that "each house rebuilt under the campaign was constructed not only with concrete and bricks, but also with the compassion, solidarity and support of the entire society."

From early October to late November last year, the central region was struck by a succession of severe storms and historic floods, leaving nearly 1,600 houses collapsed or swept away and close to 35,000 others severely damaged.

Launched by the PM with the goal of ensuring that no affected family was left without shelter, the Quang Trung Campaign achieved its targets. All damaged homes were fully repaired by the end of last year, while houses that had collapsed or been swept away were rebuilt by Thursday, more than 45 days ahead of schedule.

“We can confidently affirm that the ‘Quang Trung Campaign’ has been a resounding victory. Its success has brought shared joy and happiness to affected families and the entire nation, ahead of the 14th National Party Congress and the Lunar New Year,” the PM said.

He instructed localities to complete house handovers no later than Sunday, while continuing to address environmental issues, restore essential infrastructure, create jobs and livelihoods, and ensure transparent, timely support for affected households, especially during the Lunar New Year.
