PM underlines restructuring goals of ensuring streamlined apparatus, efficient workforce, fair policies
(VOVWORLD) - The restructuring of the political system must ensure a streamlined, effective, and efficient apparatus coupled with improving the quality of the workforce, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

It is necessary to guarantee fair treatment of contracted workers and to roll out incentive policies to encourage competent individuals to work in the public sector while attracting those from the private sector to join the public sector, PM Chinh said at a meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday to review the implementation of the Party Central Committee’s Resolution 18, which seeks to streamline the political system for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
He emphasized that the overhaul must be done in line with Vietnam’s conditions and circumstances.
Under a plan on merging and streamlining a number of ministries and agencies, the Government apparatus is expected to consist of 13 ministries and four ministerial-level agencies, a reduction of five ministries and three agencies. The number of departments and equivalent units under ministries and general departments will be reduced by 500.
