Speaking at the press conference, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu said that the 14th National Party Congress will take place in Hanoi from January 19 to 25 and will be attended by 1,586 delegates, representing over 5.6 million Party members. Preparations for the Congress have been completed with a spirit of innovation.

“Regarding the preparation of documents, the Communist Party of Vietnam has carried out a major reform by integrating three reports—the political report, the socio-economic report, and the Party building report—into a single, unified political report. Notably, this is the first time the document includes an accompanying action program, which clearly outlines each project, its timeline, and the responsibilities for implementation, ensuring that the Resolution can be implemented shortly after the Congress."

"The personnel work for the 14th Party Central Committee was conducted in accordance with Party regulations, the principle of democratic centralism, and legal provisions, in a scientific, systematic, rigorous, democratic, objective, and transparent manner,” , according to Mr. Tu.

Regarding the new aspects of the Congress, Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, said that they are "very comprehensive." The reforms range from the content of document drafting, the way documents are presented, and the organization of document implementation before the Congress, he added.

Responding to a question about Vietnam's foreign policy in the draft documents of the Congress amidst strong international changes, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung said, “The foreign policy guidelines include the view that strengthening national defense and security and promoting foreign relations and international integration are crucial and regular tasks. This is a very new and important perspective. The draft adds content on developing foreign relations in the new era commensurate with the historical, cultural, and positional stature of the country."

"The Congress will also add comprehensive, deep, coordinated, and effective international integration, enhancing Vietnam's role and position in world politics and the global economy, and participating more proactively and responsibly in resolving common global and regional issues, and contributing to the creation of a fair, equitable, and mutually beneficial order based on international law.”

On the same day, a special postage stamp issuance ceremony was held to commemorate the 14th National Party Congress.
