(VOVWORLD) - In a directive issued on Tuesday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on the chairpersons of northern provinces and localities affected by heavy rains to work closely with the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security to implement urgent flood-prevention measures.

He requested a thorough review of deeply flooded and high-risk areas prone to flash floods and landslides to ensure the timely evacuation of residents, especially the elderly, children, and vulnerable groups, from dangerous areas.
The Prime Minister emphasized that protecting human lives must be the top priority, directing authorities to take all necessary measures to reach isolated areas and deliver emergency food and supplies, ensuring that no one is left hungry or thirsty.
