Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong presented the promotion decisions to the officers during a ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday. Mr. Trong said the promotion shows the trust of the Party, State and people in the armed forces as well as the recognition of important contributions of the Generals to the development of the army and the public security force and national construction and defense.

“Those who are promoted to General today are outstanding officers trusted by the Party, State, and people to hold important positions in the military and public security forces. They have realized great achievements in national construction and defense and carried out international missions. No matter the position they hold they show their firm political stance, unimpeachable morality, high sense of responsibility, and outstanding resourcefulness,” Mr. Trong noted.

Mr. Trong underlined the significance of reinforcing defence and safeguarding national security, political stability and social safety and order, as well as the key role played by the army and public security forces.
