Yoon welcomed the decision to establish “future partnership funds” by the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) and the Federation of Korean Industries (KPI) to address shared problems, including energy problems and promote communication between the two countries’ youth.

At Keio University in Tokyo, Yoon said the youth holds the key to the future relationship between South Korea and Japan, and committed to supporting youth activities.

On Thursday, Yoon met with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in a first visit to Japan by a South Korean President after 12 years.
