Three million people with disabilities, orphans receive support in 2024
(VOVWORLD) - 30 million USD in assistance has been provided by the Association in Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans (ASVHO) to help more than 3 million people, including those with disabilities, orphans, the poor, and other disadvantaged groups in 2024, the association said at a year-end review in Hanoi on Friday.

In 2025, the association will continue to mobilize social resources to implement its key support programs. ASVHO said it is committed to shifting towards comprehensive and sustainable assistance, and plans to provide vocational training and livelihood support to 1,200 people with disabilities, while conducting capacity-building training for 2,000 others.
Also at the event, ASVHO signed cooperative agreements and launched a program to support people with disabilities and orphans, in collaboration with the National Humanitarian Portal (1400), the Action to the Community Development Institute (ACDC), and the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities.
“In 2025, we will mobilize resources to provide assistance worth approximately 23 million USD to around 3 million people. We aim to organize a singing contest for people with disabilities, as well as the ‘One Heart – One World’ program and the ‘Loving Mid-Autumn Festival,’” said ASVHO’s Vice President Do Manh Hung.
“For one year, starting October 1, 2024, each of our provincial and municipal chapters will mobilize enough resources to build at least two charity houses for poor households with disabled family members or orphans.”
