Ahead of his trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Trump spoke at a White House press briefing marking the one-year anniversary of his second term, saying he already has a lot of meetings scheduled in Davos, including discussions related to Greenland. Trump said he had meetings with the people that are directly involved.

His remarks came amid heightened tensions with European leaders after he threatened extra tariffs on European countries unless a deal is reached for the US to take Greenland. At the briefing, Trump questioned whether NATO allies would defend the US, saying that while the US is always ready to defend its allies, it remains questionable whether NATO would do the same when Washington needs it.
