(VOVWORLD) -US President Donald Trump has not abandoned the Ukraine peace process and remains deeply involved, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said at a press briefing on Monday as senior officials from the US, Russia, and Ukraine held their first trilateral meeting in the United Arab Emirates.

Leavitt said they had a multilateral meeting this past weekend which didn't get a ton of coverage but was historic in nature. The US President is not giving up on the peace process, she said, adding that "he just met with President Zelenskyy when we were in Davos, Switzerland."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday that delegations from Kyiv and Moscow will meet again in the UAE this weekend.
