Van Don International Airport resumes operation

(VOVWORLD) - The Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh province re-opened on Wednesday as a new outbreak of COVID-19 which was detected there late January is now under control.

Vietjet Air’s Flight VJ230 was the first flight carrying 41 passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to the Van Don International Airport on Wednesday. All passengers followed COVID-19 preventive measures including wearing masks, checking body temperature, using hand sanitizer, and making health declaration.

Pham Ngoc Sau, General Director of the Van Don Airport, said, “In the future, if we are assigned to receive flights carrying overseas Vietnamese and foreign experts, we’ll definitely prevent cross infection at the airport. All our staff will strictly follow preventive regulations.”

Vietnam Airlines has also resumed its flights between Van Don Airport and Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City with one flight a week on Wednesday and three flights per week on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday from March 18 to December 31.
