(VOVworld) - The Venezuelan National Assembly on Tuesday rejected all accusations against its Speaker, Diosdado Cabello, since the beginning of this year. Stories in the Wall Street Journal and on CNN have accused Cabello of being involved in a global cocaine trafficking and money laundry network. But Cabello, 52, the highest-ranking target of the US probes, called them baseless accusations that were part of a campaign to destabilize socialism in Venezuela. He said the accusations were part of an "imperial" and "far-right" campaign to lower the prestige of himself and Venezuela’s legislature, and vowed not to give way to any attempts to destabilize Venezuela. Sharing his view, Deputy National Assembly Speaker Tania Diaz said information provided by US media agencies was groundless and called it a shameful act.
