(VOVWORLD) -General Phan Van Giang, Vietnam’s Minister of National Defense, on Thursday took part in the 10th China-Vietnam Border Defense Friendship Exchange in China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

General Giang and Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun joined the welcoming ceremony at the Dongxing international border gate, visited the Dongxing border guard station, and took part in a symbolic tree planting.
The two then presided over the send‑off of a joint naval patrol and combined training mission in the Gulf of Tonkin. They visited the Ho Chi Minh sea trail memorial and the Fangchenggang international medical pilot zone, and laid a wreath to honor Vietnamese and Chinese revolutionary martyrs.

On Wednesday, General Dong Jun attended the Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange held in Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province.
